Jam sessions for all music styles -
Rock, Blues, Funk, R'n'B, Classic Pop & more
The Monday Night Jam Session in Surbiton, Surrey
A thriving jam session to which all are welcome, featuring a wide range of musical
styles - rock, funk, blues, R'n'B and soul with a bit of reggae, jazz,
latin and pop in the mix. A great range of musicians take part including
players that work with houshold names.
Friendly and enthusiastic audiences add to the great atmosphere, so whether you're a player
or a fan of live music there is no better venue at which to spend your Monday
nights in the Surrey and South & West London area.
We have a different guest artist fronting the house band each week including
Mick Rogers of
Manfred Mann's Earth Band,
Papa George,
Paul Rose,
Murray Gould (Sugababes, Never The Bride etc.) and
TJ Johnson
amongst many others (full list
here).
The
jam sessions are run by Mark and Tony (bassist & drummer from the Jam-Pact house
band).
The Elm Tree pub is in Victoria Road, Surbiton,
Surrey KT6 4NQ - just around the corner from Surbiton Station.
It is a large, comfortable and well appointed pub venue with a good range of well
kept beers, sofa areas for relaxing and friendly staff.
As well as Surbiton Station being close by, The Elm Tree is well
served by buses including two night buses that go to Twickenham, Putney and central London.

Live Bands & Music Venues -
We have a growing number of great bands and artists that we promote at
a number of live music venues. Check out who's on where in the
gig-guide to the right.
Bands Looking For Gigs
If you are a good band looking
for gigs, including function work, come down to one of our jam sessions
and play a couple of songs, we find this much better than listening
to mp3's/CD's! We are interested in bands of all styles.
Function Bands
Function Bands -
If you're looking for a good function band for your wedding, engagement or
birthday party, or for corporate entartainment we can provide live bands to enhance
your event. We have artists for every type and size of function from a
solo artist to a nine-piece soul band complete with horn section.
Just let us know what you want here!.
The jam session is run in the
following format: players/singers put your name down on the player list under
your instrument/vocal category, we then put line-ups together
from this list to play two-song sets. We don't operate a
"first come first served" system, we try to put the most suited players
together to get the best sets we can. It is very rare for someone not to get
to play, however, early arrival is more likely to ensure you an optimum line-up,
as if it is busy, which it usually is, it's easier
to plan for players that are present. Depending on how many
players for a particular instrument are there on the night, you may
get to play more than one set.
Please note, this is not an open mic
session for original material. If you are a singer, you need to know
some "standard" songs as there isn't time to teach players new songs
on the fly. Original or less than standard songs are OK if there is at
least a guitarist and bassist there that already know them.
